Code Blue Voices Your Desire for a Just & Sustainable Peace in Ukraine

The battlefields are looking more and more like the disastrous ones of World War I …with no offramp to peace. With little progress on the defined battlefields, the war has extended far beyond the front lines into Russian border cities, drones attacking Moscow, attacks on Russian ships on the Black Sea, a grain shipment embargo and civilian targets like the Kakhovka dam, creating a human-caused natural disaster.

The U.S. and NATO allies have already committed over $100 Billion in military aid to Ukraine. Some of the weaponry sent to Ukraine has been reported in the black market for terrorism and civil wars in distant regions. The war has become a breeding ground for corruption and greed producing significant wealth and a resistance to a negotiated peace.

The position of the leadership of both U.S. political parties and NATO members is reflected in this “official” statement of Rep. Jim Himes (CT-04): “The only viable path to long-term peace and stability is Ukrainian victory, which includes reclaiming the nation’s full territory”? That position is no longer tenable.

The two major powers in this conflict, Russia and the United States hold the world’s largest nuclear arsenals. We do not want this war to escalate any further towards nuclear conflict. Stop the Escalation!
